The Raleigh-based business Wine & Design will pitch to the sharks in Friday’s episode of “Shark Tank” on ABC.

Founder and CEO Harriet Mills of Raleigh will appear on the show to sell investors on the franchise, which lets customers create art while enjoying wine. Wine & Design is considered one of the leading “paint and sip” franchises in the nation, offering classes for all experience levels. They currently have 76 franchises in 15 states.

Mills, the company CEO, is a mom who started the business after being laid off from a corporate job.

The company has also partnered with Team Chris Combs and Project ALS for a “painting it forward” fundraising event. Mills is close friends with Combs, a former N.C. State baseball player and an associate director for The Wolfpack Club who was diagnosed with ALS last year. The partnership hopes to collect $50,000 to help fund a critical aspect ALS research.
