What was your first job growing up? Or what career goals did you have as a child?
From as far back as I can remember I've always known I was going to be an artist. In elementary school I started painting mailboxes for all of our neighbors, which then progressed into painting mailbox covers so that they could have multiple designs to rotate seasonally. When I was in middle school I started getting commissions from my teachers who saw me drawing in class. While other kids were getting in trouble for doodling I was capitalizing on it!
Write about a recent adventure or travel experience.
Last year I took a job running a pop-up gallery at the beach for the summer. I was able to paint all day and my skill level improved immensely. Being at the coast and painting the things I saw and experienced has left a huge impact on my style and subject matter.
What effect does art have on you? Art is everything to me. Whether I'm painting or teaching or even at a gallery, art motivates me to create a life for myself that is surrounded by creativity and passion.
If you could be a cocktail, what would you want to be?
According to Liquor.com's "What's Your Cocktail Personality?" quiz, I'm a Mojito!! : You've been told that you are as refreshing to be around as a Mojito is on the hottest days of the year. There's an infectious effervescence to your personality. You not only keep your cool, but help people around you chill out. (Thank you Liquor.com, I will definitely take that!!)
What is one item off of your bucket list?
I've always wanted to travel the world photographing everything I see so that I can come home and paint my adventures!
