We are so excited for our first featured studio owner, Kylene Kiah who owns a Wine & Design in Corning, NY. Kylene was an artist first and then turned her passion into her business. She's inspiring and runs one of our most successful studios! 

Why did you choose to start a Wine & Design franchise?
I chose to start a Wine & Design because I really needed an art outlet in my life. Something that would make me money. When I visited with Harriet in NC, I literally drove back to NY and stopped at Ikea to invision pieces in my studio because I knew when I got home I was going to make it work. I have a bachelors degree in art … zero business experience so I felt a franchise was the best. Harriet made me feel like she wanted me to open one for me, not just for her gain, but I feel like she loved me right off the bat as much as I loved her! Hahaha no joke.

What do you do on your days off?
Days off? What are those? No really. I'm the Owner and Manager so I don't really have days off. I try to keep Sundays to my family, so we try to get out and do fun things together.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing about my job is all the coffee I drink! Hahaha. Besides the obvious love for flexibility and for art, I truly love that two people I never knew before are basically family to me now. My artists are amazing and truly a blessing. I trust them with everything. I also love when I see customers outside of work! I feel like a celebrity!!

What’s your favorite bottle of wine?
I dont like wine 🙁 I'm a Gin & Tonic hog all the way. Loooooveeee me some Gin. If I had to fake it I'd drink a moscato, which is like juice anyway!!
